Introducing NetterTech Events
Why We Built This
A nonprofit arts-center client of ours in Minnesota runs hundreds of events a year: weekly dance classes, monthly concerts, annual festivals. They needed event management that could handle real-world complexity without charging per-ticket fees or slowing down their WordPress site.
The existing options fell into two camps: expensive WordPress plugins that use slow database patterns, or hosted platforms that charge a percentage of every ticket and lock your data on their servers.
So we built a third option.
What NetterTech Events Does
Events that handle complexity. Recurring events that follow the same standard used by Google Calendar and Apple Calendar (RFC 5545). “Every second Tuesday” and “last Friday of the month” just work. Occurrences are pre-computed and stored in dedicated database tables for instant calendar loading.
Ticketing without the tax. WooCommerce-powered ticketing with zero platform fees. You pay your payment processor’s standard rate (Stripe ~2.9%) and nothing else. Capacity management, waitlist with auto-notification, and reservation holds during checkout prevent overselling.

Your site stays fast. Custom database tables instead of WordPress’s default data storage. Conditional asset loading: the plugin doesn’t add JavaScript or CSS to pages that don’t display events. We measured, and it matters.
Display events your way. Calendar views (month, week, day), carousel, filterable grid. Gutenberg blocks, Beaver Builder modules, shortcodes. Forty-one theme-overridable templates. Your theme, your design.
What Makes It Different
NetterTech Events is built on modern PHP 8.2+ with strict types, custom database tables for performance, and a test suite of over 5,500 unit tests (over 10,000 across the full plugin suite). Production-grade software built with the same rigor we apply to enterprise work.
It’s also built with accessibility in mind from day one. We use Atkinson Hyperlegible (a typeface designed by the Braille Institute), ARIA labels throughout, keyboard navigation, focus management, and we target WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
Free and Pro
The free plugin handles everything most venues need: unlimited events, recurring patterns with per-occurrence ticketing, RSVP, custom attendee fields, and theme-overridable templates. Pro add-ons (coming soon) will add QR check-in, volunteer mode, multiple ticket types, promo codes, and advanced reporting for organizations that need more.
