Overview

NetterTech Events is a WordPress plugin published by Nettercap Productions. This policy covers two distinct contexts: data collected when you visit this website (nettertech.com), and data collected when your site visitors use the NetterTech Events plugin installed on your WordPress site.

These are meaningfully different. Read both sections if you’re a site owner evaluating the plugin for your venue.

This Website (nettertech.com)

What We Collect

When you visit nettertech.com, standard web server logs capture your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. We use this data to understand traffic patterns and fix broken links. It is not sold or shared with advertisers.

If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence. We do not use contact forms with third-party form services that collect data independently.

Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies. No advertising or tracking cookies are set. If you visit a page with embedded content from a third party (such as a video), that provider may set its own cookies under their own policy.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics. No personally identifiable information is sent to analytics services.

The Plugin (NetterTech Events)

When you install NetterTech Events on your WordPress site, you become the data controller for your attendees’ information. This section describes what the plugin collects, where it stores it, and what tools it provides to meet your obligations.

What the Plugin Collects

NetterTech Events collects data from your site visitors when they register for events or purchase tickets. This includes:

  • Contact information: Name and email address provided during registration or ticket purchase
  • Ticket records: Which events an attendee registered for, ticket type, quantity, and order date
  • Check-in records: Timestamps when attendees are checked in to events (if using the check-in feature)
  • Payment records: WooCommerce order data (order ID, status, and amount). NetterTech Events does not collect or store payment card data under any circumstances

WooCommerce and Payment Processing

NetterTech Events creates WooCommerce orders on your site. Payment processing is handled by your configured payment gateway (such as Stripe). Card data travels directly between your attendee’s browser and the payment processor. It does not pass through NetterTech Events’ code and is never stored in your WordPress database by this plugin.

Your payment processor has its own privacy policy governing how it handles card data.

Where Data Is Stored

All attendee data collected by the plugin is stored in your WordPress database on your hosting server. NetterTech (the company) does not have access to your attendees’ data. We are not a data processor for your site’s attendee records.

GDPR Tools

NetterTech Events integrates with the WordPress privacy tools at Tools > Export Personal Data and Tools > Erase Personal Data. When a user submits a data export or erasure request through the standard WordPress privacy request flow, the plugin includes its own records in the response.

This allows you to fulfill GDPR Article 15 (access) and Article 17 (erasure) requests through the standard WordPress interface without custom development.

Data Retention

The plugin does not enforce automatic data retention limits. Attendee records persist in your database until you delete them or use the WordPress erasure tool. If your venue has a data retention policy, configure deletion schedules at the hosting or database level.

Your Attendees’ Rights

Your attendees’ data rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable law are your responsibility to fulfill as the data controller. The plugin provides the technical tools to respond to export and erasure requests. Your privacy policy, consent language, and response procedures are yours to maintain.

Third-Party Services

If you use optional integrations (such as email service providers for event reminders), those services have their own privacy policies. NetterTech Events passes the minimum data required for each integration to function.

Changes to This Policy

Material changes to this policy will be noted with an updated “last updated” date. If you use the plugin in a regulated context, check this page periodically.
