Terms of Service
DRAFT - This policy is pending legal review and may change before launch. Do not treat this as a final legal document.
Last updated: April 2026
Who These Terms Apply To
These terms apply to anyone who downloads NetterTech Events from WordPress.org, purchases NetterTech Events Pro, or uses this website. “NetterTech” and “we” refer to Nettercap Productions, publisher of the NetterTech Events plugin suite.
License
Free Plugin (NetterTech Events)
NetterTech Events is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPL-2.0+). You may use, copy, modify, and distribute it under those terms. The source code is available on WordPress.org and in our public repository.
The GPL license means you are free to use the plugin on any number of your own sites, modify it for your needs, and redistribute it. It does not grant you rights to the NetterTech or Nettercap Productions trademarks.
Early Adopter Fee Guarantee
Users who activate NetterTech Events before per-ticket fees are introduced for new users retain zero per-ticket fees permanently. This guarantee applies to the free plugin’s WooCommerce ticketing integration and survives any future changes to fee structures. If we introduce per-ticket fees, they will apply only to new installations activated after the effective date of that change.
Pro Add-On (NetterTech Events Pro)
NetterTech Events Pro is a commercial extension distributed under a proprietary license. A Pro license grants you:
- The right to use Pro on the number of sites specified in your license tier
- Access to plugin updates for the duration of your license
- Access to priority email support for the duration of your license
Your license is non-transferable and may not be sublicensed or resold. You may not distribute Pro files to third parties outside the scope of your own site deployment.
A Pro license does not grant you rights to the plugin source code beyond what the GPL components already allow.
Acceptable Use
You may use NetterTech Events to manage events and ticketing for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the plugin to facilitate fraudulent transactions or deceive attendees
- Modify and redistribute Pro files in violation of the commercial license
- Use this website in ways that would interfere with other users or our infrastructure
- Attempt to reverse-engineer license enforcement mechanisms
We do not restrict what kinds of events or organizations may use the free plugin, subject to applicable law.
Tickets and Attendee Transactions
NetterTech Events facilitates ticket sales through WooCommerce on your site. We are not a party to the transaction between you and your attendees. Ticket refunds, cancellations, and attendee disputes are between you and your attendees under your own policies.
Your refund and cancellation terms with attendees are separate from the refund policy on this page, which governs only purchases of our plugin and services.
Intellectual Property
The NetterTech Events name, logos, and visual identity are trademarks of Nettercap Productions. The GPL license for the plugin does not grant trademark rights.
If you fork or modify the plugin under the GPL, you may not represent the modified version as NetterTech Events or imply affiliation with Nettercap Productions.
Limitation of Liability
The plugin is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We make no warranties about uninterrupted or error-free operation
- We are not liable for data loss, revenue loss, or consequential damages arising from use of the plugin
- Our total liability for any claim related to the plugin or these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
This limitation does not affect statutory rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Disclaimer
NetterTech Events is software that helps you manage events on your WordPress site. We are not a ticketing platform, payment processor, or event organizer. We do not take responsibility for your events, your attendees, or your use of payment processors you configure.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated date. Continued use of the plugin or Pro license after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you have an active Pro license, we will notify you of material changes to the license terms before they apply to your subscription.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Ramsey County, Minnesota, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
